After five days without my Giotto, he’s been restored to the gaping hole on my kitchen bench. I’m looking forward to having a play this morning.
Can I just say that in an ironic twist, my filter and syphon let me down spectacularly in his absence. They produce delightful brews when I’m spoilt for choice, but when I must depend on them … pfft!
Well, actually I think I also had a shocker on the roasting side of things. Perhaps I can blame this unruly weather … or perhaps I just wasn’t paying enough attention …
Let us know how the G goes after it’s service. Mine took a couple of months to setlle down after being pulled apart. Hot expanding metal - that sort of thing.
Espresso rules!
Hmm … the few shots I’ve pulled have been ok. Not brilliant, but I’m blaming the beans. My light roasted Yemeni had way too much tobacco to really be enjoyable.
I’m not sure espresso does rule though. I mean I looooove it, but in recent times (except for the last week) I’m pretty much drinking around 50% espresso and the rest filter or syphon. Love them for the clarity of flavours!
I actually added up the amount in grams I’ve been consuming in regards to filter/syphon vs espresso…. and the past few weeks my espresso consumption has decreased compared to the filter. It’s at like 2:1!!! p.s. Don’t tell Hazel, she’ll make fun.
Why will Hazel make fun of that? You painting your ceiling with her Gethumbwini on the other hand …
sorry that didn’t come out right…i am such a cybereejit
Um, I’m probably in enough trouble already so I’ll leave Dan to explain what he did with your Geth …
“espresso and syphon are so different. neither has any to prove to the other”
Hehehe … you wouldn’t be able to convince me to give up either of them
d’oh and d’oh, Hazel where’d you come from?! haha. Yeah… Geth… ceiling… yeah… I’ll explain next time I drop in.
And agreed - both are best. FWIW I love to invoke bad juju.
