No detailed cupping notes - blasted cold won’t go away.
Still, through the syphon it was floral, rose petals, chocolate, caramel, white-winey acidity and totally awesome … and of course, I’ve now run out of it as greens. As ’spro, the acidity was just delightful, plus a ‘front’ of sweetness that was beautiful. Really nicely balanced.
Got some El Salvador El Angel resting and smelling good.
Hoping my head cold racks off in time for the big opening and cupping at ‘Flint & Steel’. I might cry if my nose is still blocked Saturday morning!
ooh, I’m looking forward to your notes on El Salv Angel, I’m planning on roasting some up tomorrow.
I hope your cold goes too so you can give me some hints on what I’m tasting at F&S, so I don’t looks so stupid in front of Hazel.
Sheesh - talking at the cupping table, that’s supposed to be forbidden
Nah, it’s going to be so fun! I’m excited!
Sounds like an interesting bean. I’m beginning to think that Centrals are my favourite bean region… still probably too inexperienced to make that judgement though!
Where did you get the greens, out of interest? I haven’t seen them around.
Cheers
Stuart.
Hi Stuart - They were from CS BeanBay last October.
Couple of years back, there was a fantastic Dom Rep Bah that we did through Ozgreens. The year after is was pretty ordinary - sounds like it’s worth a revisit…
Hey Neil, what about some Masai soon? Is that hitting the shores soon?
Yeah, should be here now… will suss out the quality…
